Crap Happens (Original title: Kacken an der Havel) is a German comedy TV series created by Alex Schaad and Dimitrij Schaad. The show follows an aspiring rapper whose return to his hometown unexpectedly turns his life upside down.
Balancing absurd humor with emotional storytelling, the series explores ambition, responsibility, family dynamics, and identity. With quirky characters and surreal elements — including a talking baby duck — the show blends satire with heartfelt moments.
Toni has always dreamed of escaping his small hometown of Kacken (an der Havel) to become a famous rapper. After spending 18 years in Berlin without achieving stardom, he survives by working as a pizza baker.
When his mother dies in a bizarre accident, Toni is forced to return home. There, he faces an unexpected opportunity that could finally launch his career. At the same time, he must deal with his eccentric younger stepfather Johnny Carrera, the peculiar talking duck Tupac, and a host of strange villagers.
As if that weren’t enough, Toni’s 13-year-old son Charly — whom he never knew existed — suddenly enters his life. Torn between ambition and newfound fatherhood, Toni must decide what truly matters.

Crap Happens delivers a unique blend of satire and emotional storytelling. While the premise leans heavily into absurd comedy — including surreal characters and exaggerated situations — the core of the series is grounded in themes of responsibility and self-discovery.
Anton Schneider brings charm and vulnerability to Toni, portraying a man caught between ambition and fatherhood. The show’s humor often stems from its eccentric supporting cast and unconventional storytelling style.
Though packed with comedic chaos, the series balances its light tone with genuine emotional beats. It stands out as a quirky coming-of-age story wrapped inside a satirical small-town comedy.
